I started this painting on this last Sunday evening. It was done in a single sitting using my MaimeriBlu palette. The scene is from a trip to central Virginia this past summer near Mount Solon. These old country store/service stations are disappearing fast so catching them while they are still around is neat. The tree foliage is in full lush; this was the weekend leading up to the 4th of July so spring was finishing up. The yellow / sienna grass near the store added a very nice effect to the painting. I also positioned the road to disappear into the dark trees in the center of the painting to draw int he viewer. Enjoy!
